This page will tell you about some of the distinctive beliefs of Christadelphans
Because the Christadelphians are a Bible based group, our distinctive beliefs all come straight from Bible teaching. A small selection of Bible references are given to support each statement:
God - Isa 45:5-6; Gen 1; Num 14:21
There is one true God
God created the entire universe with a purpose
The Bible - 2 Tim 3:15-16; 2 Pet 1:20-21
The Bible is the inspired revelation of God to man
It reveals God's purpose to us
Jesus - Lk 1:35; Rom 1:3-4
Jesus is the Son of God
He is also the Son of Man through Mary
Jesus' life - Rom 8:13; Heb 2:14
Jesus could have sinned yet he lived a sinless life
He overcame the daily temptations of life
Jesus' death - Rom 10:9-13; 1 Tim 1:15-16
He died to save his followers from sin and death. After three days God raised him from the dead
Jesus now - Mk 16:19; Acts 1:9-11
Jesus now sits at the right hand of God in heaven
He will remain there until he returns to the earth
Jesus future - Jn 5:26-29; Isa 9:6-7
On returning he will raise and judge responsible people
As King he will establish the worldwide Kingdom of God
Man's hope - Ecc 9:5-6; Rom 5:21
At death man ceases to exist
The only hope of life is resurrection at Christ's return
Man's response - Mk 16:15-16; Rom 6:4
If we hope to be united with God and Jesus, and live in their future Kingdom, the Bible requires us to:
Believe in the Bible message, God's promises to us in Jesus
Repent and be baptised by immersion in water
Live a new life dedicated to God, following Christ's example.
Thus the hope of a Christadelphian is for resurrection at the return of Christ to the earth and to be with him in the Kingdom of God. This is an event which we believe the Bible makes clear will be soon!
